Shop top housing is a new council initiative in some parts of Australia to meet the demand for more housing and make use of otherwise vacant space above existing retail. This is our design for affordable apartment living in Northern NSW. Converting the existing shop top vacant space to a generous and comfortable living space. The original building floor plan is quite deep so we've added a light well (roof penetration) with louvres allowing natural light and ventilation to flood the space.
